Ultimate Support Celebrates 30TH Anniversary and Undergoes Major Relaunch Under Direction of New CEO.
November 12, 2007, Loveland, CO - Throughout the course of its 30-year history, Ultimate Support Systems has established itself as the premium accessory choice of the pros, dealers and consumers alike. Offering a wide range of user-driven, innovative designs backed with superior customer service, Ultimate products are geared to meet the ever-evolving needs of musicians, sound contractors, venues and recording studios. Legacy products—like the award-winning Apex Column Keyboard and TeleLock® Speaker stands—have withstood the test of time and continue to be widely used today. In January of 2007, another chapter in Ultimate Support’s history unfolded as the MI and OEM divisions were both acquired by music industry pro, Mike Belitz. Over the past year, new CEO Belitz has made significant changes within the company structure—relocating corporate headquarters to Loveland, CO, returning the shipping/warehousing functions from an off-site facility to the new compound, assembling a new management team comprised of industry veterans, and creating a host of new innovative products launching at The NAMM Show in January 2008.
Belitz’s prior experience and entrepreneurial forays in the MI/Pro industry are far-reaching, totaling over 18 years. He served as a product specialist and Sales & Marketing Manager for Alesis from 1989 to 1994, moving on with several of its principals to help form Event Electronics. In 1996, Belitz launched Sonic Sales, a West Coast-based MI/Pro rep firm, and later founded eBlitz Audio Labs in 1999, to develop and bring to marketing a series of successful MP3 players (pre-iPod). eBlitz exists today as an exclusive distributor of MI/Pro Audio products. In addition, it is the umbrella company under which Ultimate—and Body Glove Music Products established by Belitz three years prior—will fall. The addition of Ultimate to the eBlitz roster will further expand the spectrum of high-quality, innovative instrument case accessories the company offers.
“What attracted me initially to Ultimate was that, as a gigging musician in my former life, I was a big fan of the company and a user,” says Belitz. “The products had a great reputation among pros and a life time warranty. But beyond that, I see Ultimate as more than just a brand. When I look at the industry from a dealer or manufacturer perspective, I view the accessories business as stale and stagnant; I refer to it as this ‘black tubular sea of mediocrity.’ My goal is to take the technology, innovation, and the legacy that Ultimate has created, and expand on that to offer wildly unique and inventive products and to further separate ourselves from the pack. This is the new face of Ultimate.”
Under the direction of Belitz and the new management team, they will focus intently on product design, marketing and sales. In the coming months, Ultimate Support will introduce a new marketing campaign throughout its marketing collateral including literature, website and packaging. The new look and feel reflects the strength, durability and beauty of this premium brand, and is positioned to maintain and build upon Ultimate’s legacy while moving forward into its fourth decade.
